For my first piece I had wanted to show the transition of summer to fall, through the tree leaves slowly changing color. At first I had wanted to have a picture of a river, but after looking through the photos I had taken, I decided that the trail was the best position because it brought movement and focus. The trail had also shown more color and change than the river.

In my fourth piece, I wanted to docoument the color changes in the leaves. Since the leaves were still changing, I was able to show the slow transition between summer into fall. I also wanted to include a body of water because water has a very big impact on nature and a lot of plants grow around water.

In my fifth piece, I still wanted to capture the color fall but I also didnt want a field full of leaves on the ground. I wanted to draw the viewer to the back of the piece. The way the stairs were, it interested me because it moved my eye as it went up but it also had multiple colors to really show fall and its multiple different colors.

In my sixth piece, I still wanted my piece to have a point where the piece goes. So I went to Foster Lake, to a different spot from the 2and and 3rd piece, and took pictures when it was raining. I really liked how some of the pictures showed the depth of the water so I decided to choose one that had the rain pattering on the water, the depths of the water, and the pathway the water took.

In my 7th sustained piece, I wanted to show this deadness of winter since my other pieces had life to them. In the piece I wanted to have the trees be bare. The best place that really showed this concept was the Freeway lakes by Albany, Oregon. Also, this picture really captured the sunlight shining through the trees, making a focal point and drawing your eyes around the piece with the sun rays hitting certain points.

In my 8th piece, I wanted to showcase a different type of weather . This piece also shows the different weather the mountain has at certain points. At the very top, the mountain has snow and further down at the base of the mountain, it's foggy. In the town, it is clear of the fog. What I also like about this piece is the texture of the clouds. They really bring life into the piece more than it would have been if the sky was clear. I decided this piece shoukd be in black and white to show the light points in both the sky and in the snow.

In my 9th piece, I wanted to show how colorful Oregon's skies can get during the sunrises and sunsets. This piece showed the variety of colors that they could have. Another thing that I liked about this piece was how the clouds reflected the light and colors of the sunrise.

In my 10th piece, I struggled on the position of my piece. While I wanted the lake and trees in the background, I also wanted something in the foreground. I also didn't want the object in the foreground to take up a lot of space. I decided that I would position a tree a quarter of the way into the photograph so the tree would take up alot of the space. I also wanted to bring out the pink in the sky so brought out more of the pink. One of the artist that helped inspride this piece was Peter Lik. In most of his pieces, Lik has such vibrant colors while still having his piece looking natural looking. So I wanted to try that with the pink.

In my 11th piece, I had wanted to show more movement in the water. In my last pieces, the water was always still and didn't really have any movement besides small ripples. Another decision I had to make was if I wanted this piece in black and white. After debating, I decided to stay with the color because the color showed more details in both the rocks and plants than having it black and white. With the black and white, the details blended into the surroundings.

In my 12th piece, I had wanted to show how flexible nature is. Since the tree fell over, the river and plants started to move and grow around it. Another decision I made this piece was that I wanted some details in the water. The lower part of my piece, showed the detail in the ripples reflecting the sunlight. And the rocks and the algae.

In my 13th piece, I wanted to show the growth of the trees. This piece really shows it, with the bridge showing a fraction of how high the trees have actually grown to be. It also showed the vibrant color that the tree leaves have.

In my 14th piece, I had chosen this picture because of how much detail it has in the rocks and water. The water had a lots of movement . It shows how powerful a waterfall can be anf that plants and or algae can grow anywhere. The background is full of green life.

In my 15th and last sustained piece, I wanted to really show the quality nature has. I decided that my last piece should be a place that doesn't have a lot of influence from people, like Clear Lake. The lake doesn't allow any motorized boats to preserve its crystal clearness. The lake had once been a glacier that mealted. I also wanted to have my last piece have water in it since a lot of my piece had been around water. I chose this position of the lake because it moved the viewers eye more than it eould have if the lake was just a body that didn't have derection. I think the point draws so much attention the plants and the water because it brings in alot of depth that some of my other pieces lacked.
